Good evening;
Is there a way to find out what state your classic car was last registered in? I checked with the Ct. DMV and there was no history available with my vin # They say if the car was registered in ct. prior, then you just have to submit the paperwork to register it; otherwise you have to bring car to verify VIN; my situation is, i purchased the car dis- assembled; I would like to find out if it was registered in ct. or where ever so that i could avoid possible registration problems after its built; I followed up on 3 previous owners who never registered the car; any suggestions? My car is a 56 Belair tudor sedan; I never realized that the industry offers the least in exterior sheet metal for the 56. Are there any complete fiberglass fenders & hoods available for these cars as i havent found any metal ones? Thank you, Mark L in Ct; |

Mark you might try getting hold of one of the bonded title companies since i think they do checks all over before issuing a bonded title for cars.

Mark, I believe I have seen fiberglass front clips for the 56 and possibly glass hoods too.... Later, Dave

Hi Mark, One way to try and track the prior owners & registrations is if you know a state or local officer run the VIN on the computer.
It will help if you know someone or you are lucky enough to find one that is a "car guy". As far as your search for front end sheet metal, I have a complete nose here that I might be willing to sell. If you are interested send me a PM with your number & best time to call. -Bruce |

Mark,
I don't know that you will have any luck on tracking down the last registration state, because most purge this info after 10 year's. If you have the VIN from the car, it should not be that big a deal to get registered though. As for fender's, and sheetmetal, keep in mind that a 4 dr front clip as well as the deck lid will interchange with the 2 dr........................... ![]()

The person at the MV said if i found that it was registered in Ct. I wouldnt have to bring the car there to register it; Thank you, Mark L; |
