Default CPP Wheel Offset list!

This is a list of wheel offsets for the 55-57 cars. All measurements where taken from the wheel mounting surface to the center of the lower ball joint using a surface plate and height gauge. Many companies claim different measurements for the exact same rotor and spindle combination. If in doubt, ask which brake rotor they are using.

0.0 CPP drop spindle = No change in track width. Minimum wheel: 14” disc type.

+3/8” O.E. spindle with narrow hub and CPP 13” rotor = 3/8” wider per side. Minimum wheel: some 16” all 17”.

+3/8” O.E. spindle with CPP “Minimum Offset” 10.8” rotor = 3/8” wider per side. Minimum wheel: 14” disc type.

+7/8” O.E. Stock spindle with standard hub and CPP13” rotor = 7/8” wider per side. Minimum wheel: some Some16”(template avalible) all 17” and larger!

+7/8” O.E. Stock spindle with standard 11” rotor (common Chevelle rotor) = 7/8” wider per side. Minimum wheel: 14” disc type. Wide Offset

+7/16” O.E. spindle with ECI “Minimum Offset” 10.5” rotor = 7/16” wider per side. Minimum wheel: 14” disc type.

+3/16” Heidts drop spindle with 8215 rotor = 3/16” wider per side. Minimum wheel: 14” disc type.

+7/8” Heidts drop spindle with CPP 13” rotor = 7/8” wider per side. Minimum wheel: some 16”(Template available) all 17” and larger.

Wow, great work! That is really valuable data. I love those "zero offset" parts.

Which disc brake setup gives 0.0 offset with these spindles?

The 55-57 with the CP30102 10.5 brake kit will move only 1/8" per side.

So why did you put 0.0" in the table if it's 1/8"? Sometimes 1/8" can make a big difference.

Thanks.

It is nice to have all of this info in one place and thanks for putting it together, but I have a couple of questions. Like Chevynut mentioned above, is the zero offset option really 1/8"? Also, I have the CPP 2" dropped spindles that uses the 12" camaro rotors with the large early model Chevelle calipers, and I like them. I did not see them in the list. Also, I asked about offset when I ordered them and was told on the phone that it was 3/8". I measured more than that and the last time I ordered something from CPP I received a new catalog and it stated that the offset for this kit is 5/8" for a trifive, 3/8" for later models. 5/8" matches what I measured because I have 60 3/4" between wheel mounting surfaces (stock is about 59 1/2). Knowing it was 5/8" might have affected my decision. I am hoping to buy wheels soon and the extra 1/4" offset is $40 per wheel more for the TT II's.

The 12" new style kits that are not on the list will yeild a .625 offset on a Tri-five.

The CP30102 (originally quoted at 1/8") with the 10.5 rotor is actually zero offset.

Hope this correction helps!
