Default 210 Window problems

So I tried to roll the rear drivers window on my '56 210 down and it shattered instead of rolling down. I don't think I need to describe my frustration at the moment. Does anyone know a good source for glass for these vehicles.

Thank you,
Adam Lipka

Hi Adam
check out the parts vendors here on site
Danchuk springs to mind but others hold new glass as well

Not sure about your car, but the glass for the rear seats in my wagon are flat. I got one of mine cut at a local shop for a fraction of what Danchuck had it listed at.
Again, not sure of the glass in your model.

Did you figure out what made it shatter and did you fix the problem? I'd hate to install new glass just to have it happen again. {:O(

Adam first off has the rubber roller been changed on the door? If so was it installed correctly? If upside down it will crack the glass (ask me how i know that one ). The glass is flat and can easily be cut by a local glass shop. Or check with www.autocityclassic.com

The car has been sitting for a while and the window was real stiff. I tried turning the crank a little harder and it just gave all of a sudden and then the glass spiderwebbed but didn't go down. I'll go get a price quote from a local glass shop later this week.

The other rear passenger glass moves in the track fine but it seems to have the glass come loose from the regulator mechinism as well.

Thanks for the input. I will definetly be looking into the suggestions posted here.

Respectfully,
Adam Lipka

OF there is a roller with a rubber covering under the window trim that is screwed to the top of the inner wall. The glass rolls against on the inner side of the glass.

Default window glass

I got a new drivers window from Vintage Auto Glass in Missoula MT. Very nice people to deal with. Allen
