Hi guys, I am about to refit the inlet manifold back on after changing a lifter to what I hope is/was the problem with a non adjustable rocker clearance, (more to follow) but whilst the inlet manifold is still off, I was wondering if any other owners have blocked off that exhaust fuel pre heater device that burns off the nice Chevy orange paint off the manifold just by the carb, and leaves the manifold looking like a burnt burger!
I dont use the car in the winter so carb icing is not a problem , extra fuel used is also no problem, but might removing this device by putting a blanking plate over the exhaust manifold as many cars now seen to have be ok? it must be a common thing to do as Danchuk supply a special blanking plate? your thoughts please, Regards Johnny UK |

Yep, I block the passage to keep from burning the paint. Gasket kits come with the blocking plates.
