2010 Hunnert Car Pile Up

Man im super excited for this show . Was afraid after all the complications last year they wouldnt hold it again , But the Czars regrouped and found a bigger venue !! Ive never gotten to attend but wont miss it this year , its only 30 minutes from my house!!!!!! Its going to be held in Decatur Illinois this year at a location known as Progress City that is out by Richland Community College . Its where they hold the giant Farm Progress Show every year . This is going to be AWSOME~~ Anyone here planning on attending ?

planning on takeing a camera with a few changes of batteries and cards , video and regular . Gonna thrash on the 55 and see if i cant get her in for a maiden voyage.

A guy I work with went there in 2008 with his freshly built Rat Rod pick up... They did a photo shoot of it and used it on a calendar for 2009... Strange looking truck used a 46 F__d cab with top chopped and suicide doors... Model T box stretched and widened... Dodge frame and wheels... Buick nailhead power with TH400 (I think) auto tranny... It has the front nose and grill from a mid 30's Hudson Teraplane... The tailights were once center mounted trunk brake lights from a 47 or 48 Plymouth... Fiberglass seats and steering wheel from a boat... In 2008 we had a devastating flood here and someone found the lid to an old pressure cooker in the flood debris and gave it to him... He polished it up and used it for the top to his air cleaner... He never painted the car but did spray it with clear... He calls his ceration "The Mutant" I don't think he made 2009 but will prob go to 2010 show... Later, Dave

That's the way I feel. The czars are from Chi and most of the people who go are so they decide to move it to Decatur. If they want to change anything,why don't they have it when it's not 20 to 40 degrees out? The rat rod thing was fun for a while but ,even after helping a few guys build one,I am totally burnt out on them. I like the customs and gassers and a lot of other stuff but the 'butchered' stuff is getting old.
The only reason I would go, is to see some friends and maybe see mac-55's car,,,that's about it. I'm a bit frustrated about this,in case ya can't tell. No matter what kind of event people put on,it starts out cool for the first few years and then it ALWAYS turns into a stinkin mess.Greed and stupidity always win out.
To be honest,after last year,there are a lot of ticked-off people that won't be comming back,,,and I don't blame them. I don't think that I would be real happy to drive from Minnnesota to Morris Illinois,in a car with NO ROOF,in below freezing temperatures,,and get TURNED AWAY AT THE GATE !!
All my personal feelings aside,,,I hope you get your car done and have a great time.- KB

Kab I gotta agree with ya on some of that stuff . A farmall grill on a 46 ford truck makes me sick ha ha ha . Im not a fan of the "rat rods" just not , Im going to see the HOT RODS , those model a 5 windows done in the right way. Gassers and customs like you . I never could make the trip up there for personal reasons but im really glad it is going to be within driving distance at least ONCE lol. And ya , i heard ALOT of folks were upset about last year , i sure hope it doesnt change to much this year , im hoping there will be a good turnout , i plan on taking all kinds of pictures. I guess there is a car club out of peoria who is handling the swap meet , good to see they brought that back. In central illinois we just dont have that many GOOD car venues to attend , we have a swap meet in Altamont in April that is ok , but besides that , if i go to a car show here ive got to look over the raised hoods of 12 97 mustangs with neon lights to see the tail fins of one 57 or the fenders on one model A . Im really excited to see that many hotrods in one place.

Hi Mac, I would love to go as I have relatives in Shelbyville, some of which I haven't seen for 30 years. Could you tell me more about the show. Mostly when, as Ive never heard of it before......Thanks
