In the areas along the doors that have the plate over them to protect wiring, has anyone done anything different there? I was thinking about making a thin box (1/4 in or so) and running it along that area instead of using the plate. Just looking for ideas. By the way, does anyone make reproduction plates for that area?

East Coast Chevy has them in the catalog. The fronts you have to trim the 2 dr ones for and they list the rears also.

If nothing else the catalogs can be an invaluable tool when looking to see if a part is repo`d.

Well, not sure. I have the old ones and they are in mediocre shape (actually, pretty poor shape) and I was trying to think of something that would work just as well if not better. I am going to use the AAW wiring set up so I guess I can route the wires a different way. I just want to protect them.

Eldon the plates also act as a filler so the carpet doesn`t sag or get mashed down in that channel since the door sill doesn`t fully cover it.
