Cool! That would have an odd firing order for sure. You could have a really stiff crank too.

That engine would have to fire two cylinders at a time every 180º of crank revolution. A normal V8 fires every 90º which is why they are so smooth and sound so good. I would bet this engine would sound and act more like a four cylinder engine.

I took another look at it and it would indeed fire every 90º just like any other V8 engine. It’s an Interesting design.

Looks to me like there is a bit of interference on the pistons and the rocker arms....

Kind of reminds me of the 180 degree (flat crank) V8's used in truck pulls years ago. They were supposed to get better traction because of the 180 degree firings. Don't know but they sounded different.
