Default Alternator brackets
I need to find some brackets to mount my alternator on the drivers side with a long water pump.:

what heads are you using ? do they have the 3 hole in the end of the head?

Depending on bolt pattern on heads and if using headers Ecklers,Summitt, Danchuck etc. should have something for you

Jim....You have a couple of options....Do you want to use a bracket mounted to the head or manifold? If manifold, what type do you have? Headers or rams horn?

That thread is relative to SWP, I have never seen a factory LWP alternator bracket for the drivers side. I do not think it exist, the Best drivers side bracket is 69-72 truck or 68-82 Vette, but its SWP.

Yes but it can be used with a long pump by making a spacer to space it out. That is the same bracket i ran on my 57 before this rebuild.

Why go to all that trouble. Just buy a SWP and be done, I do not believe it necessary to out trick the factory on some items. I believe that even 50 years ago GM had more money and smarter engineers than I have at my disposal.

Because if you done have the LWP installed why change it out. 1" thick aluminum and maybe 30 minutes time and it was built and worked like a charm.

I`ve never worried about "out tricking the factory" i just like to do things my way.
