Hey Guys, I recently put 15 inch rally wheels on my 57. I am trying to figure out a way to put the stock 14inch hubcaps on a 15 inch wheel for a change occasionally. The Canadian hubcap has the prongs (which might work if spread) but I already have a good set of American originals which are the smooth band.????? Any ideas? or am I wasting my time. Thanks Blake

I don't see how you could do it.

I'm guessing you are going to spend a lot of time parked on the side of the road walking ditches looking for your MIA 14inch hubcaps
Later, Dave

You may be able to fasten the 57 wheel covers to a 15" beauty ring and let the ring hold it to the 15" wheel. The ring would cover the gap between the wheel cover and the wheel.

Just weld the '57 wheel covers to the rally wheels. (j/k here)
Wonder how much better the Canadian '57 wheel covers would grab the beauty rings?

I was thinking of using sheet metal screws through the back edge of the beauty ring into the grab flange of the wheel cover so the screws wouldn't show but would make one assembly out of the wheel cover and beauty ring.

A friend ran 14" Impala hubcaps on 15" wheels. He siliconed them on, had them on for a few years without any issues. Evidently the outer size is close enough to allow for this.

Thanks for the ideas. I may try the beauty ring idea. Of course I just gave away a set of 15" beauty rings a month or so ago that would've been perfect.
Just thinking of having the op to change it around a little bit. I think it'd be neat to have the Americans, rallys and be able to go stock appearing every so often. I've got the stock 14" wheels with nubs but was trying to do it without buying tires. I know it's a crazy idea and I may not get it to work but I'm gonna try. Thanks Blake |
