I had my frame sandblasted. When I picked it up I realized the vent hole in the axle was open. How much sand do you think could get in thru that hole? Is it something I should worry about? Should I remove the axles and chunk and clean it out? http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/...ffframe012.jpg

what does the area look like now Ray? If it's clean, and really clean - well get out the wrenches. It will not make the insides happy.

I wouldn't want to be riding with you when it locks up from sand in the bearings. play it safe . Disassemble an clean blow out around housing ends before you start removing axles and check axle bearings before reassembly.

Take it apart and clean it. Wheel, carrier and pinion bearings are not cheap!
