On my 56 210 4 dr sedan, I just got it back from the upholstery shop and find that with the seat redone and springs all jacked up like they oughta be that I don't have enough legroom.
I'm tall and just need to move the seat back. How do you do that? Really don't want to go to the smaller steering wheel if possible. Anyone have any ideas about that before I take the seat out. Thanks in advance Last edited by Bad270; 07-31-2007 at 06:08 PM.. |

Well with the front legs slipping under the bracket, you could have another one built to move it back and still bolt to the stock location. And then you would have to drill new holes for the back bolts.

That sounds logical. I'll just have to take the seat out and see about that. You don't suppose somebody makes a bracket for that do you? Dang I seem to never get things right the first time! Put gutters all around my house-the wrong way-now I have to redo the whole d**n thing. (Hate standing on ladders) Now to take the seat out how many times? Arty good luck. Like to know what you do. |

Hey Arty
Check this out-I called Ecklers and one of their tech guys is working on this problem and results will be published in there monthly mag. He said the part will be available in about 2 months and will be listed under seats on the web page. I think I will **** it up until then. He said you and I weren't the only tall guys with 4 door sedans out there. |

The funny thing is I had a 57 2 dr HT when I was a kid and leg room wasn't an issue. I was as tall then as I am now. Maybe it has to do with the thousands of donuts I have eaten since then. Maybe we just need to lose some weight!
If anyone reading this has a picture of a bare floorboard I would like to see it to see how the seat mounts up. Thanks |

I'm 6ft tall but I only weigh 150lbs.,(only 20 more than HS), but it seems that I don't have as much leg-room as I did in my 1st '55 with bench seat. 2nd '55 wasn't a problem as I installed buckets where I needed them for leg-room. Anyhow I plan to move mine back when I get around to doing the interior..

Same here-not much foot room in the back seat even now but there may never be anyone in my back seat so no big deal.
Didn't want to go to buckets as I am trying to retain the original look. |
