Hi just joined tri 5 ,I am finally starting to build a 55 belair 2dr Ht THAT i HAVE had since 88,Want to know how to use origional power steering with a modern power steering pump?Is this possible? and if so does Any body make hoses for this combination?
Will eventiually switch to newer steering box but want to get it running asap. Thanks |

Nemo there is a guy here in Tx. that sells the original type kits for power steering but can`t remember his name or e-mail address. Maybe one of the other guys will have this info. I believe his name is Steve and i`m not sure but i`m thinking his last name is Pratt.

Classic Chevy International sells a kit that does just what you are looking for. The kit comes with the hoses, pump, brackets, and the pump pulley. This setup will also let you use an alternator. I used this setup before switching to a different box. When you eventually do decide to switch to an updated box ( 605,570,CPP, or Concept one) you are going to have to convert your linkage down below to a manual steering setup. Found all this out the hard way Hope this info helps.Jerry |
