I just traded for a nice 210 post car with power steering. I am unable to I.D. the steering box. After much searching the internet I think it might be a Delphi 600?? It is definately not the popular 500 box and not a 605. This box is pretty large and is extremely close to the exhaust manifold. I am not pleased with the way it steers. At idle or low speed there is no power assist. At speed it is acceptable but I can't figure out why it doesn't work at low speed. All the obvious has been checked, I.E. fluid level, belt tension. This box mounts to the frame via a fabricated bracket. It looks to have 4 mounting holes on the box. My car has a 79 TransAm steering column installed. Will my column mount up to a 500 box? I have read a lot of negitave comments on the 605 boxes. I had on on my street rod and was very satisfied with it. Any suggestions here would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Both the newer 500 and 600 box bolt up to the frame the same as the original steering box. Do you have a pic of it to post/
