I have my steering box out and i have read that it should be 4 to 4 1/2 turns lock to lock... mine is 5 and 1/4........is that good or bad... thanks dc

Is it still the original big steering wheel or does it have a smaller wheel on it now?

It is still out of the car so just have a pair of vise grips attached

Its 4 to 4 1/2 when in the car but its more out the car because you dont have the stops on the lower a-arms.

dei355 has it right, the box itself is a little over 5 turns, with everything together in the car, the stops on the steering arms become the limit on travel and that's the 4-3/4 turns described.

Be careful. I have read that you can damage the ball guides by turning it full throw without the stops. IMHO.
