Default Do I have drop spindles?

I only recently bought the car and don't yet know it well. Can you tell from this picture if I have drop spindles? I initially thought so, but the rotors are small (10"), and most descriptions of drop spindles I've seen say they require the larger rotors.

I'd say you do have dropped spindles.

Yes, I agree. Actually most of the dropped spindles take a slightly small rotor than the rotors that fit a stock spindle.

Right on! There's $500 I can re-direct to a pocket kit.

I have a question for all, on drop spindles, My father (being a 60's greaser) had a number of these tri-5s and they used to raise the front ends up w/out tube framing and straight axle, He calls those drop-spindles , they used to take two sets and make one, i would like to raise my 55 up a little but I don't want to butcher the frame and I don't want to straight axle it, all thoughts are appreciated!!

What you're referring to is the opposite of today's dropped spindles.

I've never seen one of that type that looked safe enough to drive, let alone drive fast.

There is some spring extenders on e-bay. Do a search on "55 chevy front lift" in E-bay motors. Don't know how good they work or how safe they are.

Dirty Intentions
These are not for the average welder. Two stock spindles welded together to make one raised spindle.
