Don't laugh, please
![]() As some of you know, my garage space is at a premium (one-car) so when I decided to change the oil in one of my other cars, I had to try to get the 57 out of the garage - inside the garage is the only level place on my property! It took me a while (still need a new battery) but I finally got the ol' girl running -- had to adjust the carburetor a bit but I got it idling pretty darn good! What a great feeling (it's been sitting idle for a number of months). BUT....the transmission linkage is still messed up! I thought I had it set right, but it still won't shift into reverse (need to go backward to get out of the garage!) ![]() Tomorrow I'm getting on the floor and doing it right (I hope)! I'm still smilin' ear to ear -- it feels great to fire that beast up! ![]()

Mike i can only imagine how that feels .... again. Mine hasn`t been fired up since around 1997 or 98. I am getting anxious to hear mine. Now get that linkage fixed and drive it around the block.
Did you ever find out anything about the 57 sitting off out on that vacant lot? Terry

It's quite the thrill to fire one up after along time of inactivity,,all the wrenching,,money,,effort. Once the 56 hit on all 8 with open headers, everyone was grinning from ear to ear,,ready for a ride.
