Am i missing some part?

Hi

I wonder if someone can tell or show me what part that bolts to the top rear on the front fender.
I think that i lost those at the paint shop or where we dipt it in acid.

Yes, you are missing a bracket. Looks like this:

Yep, you're missing something. There is a bracket there that is rivited on at the factory. Since it is gone, someone must have used a grinder or drill to remove it. With the bracket there, you can see how a bolt with a flat washer holds the back of the fender to the cowl. That hole you have circled with magic marker gets a small rubber plug.

The bracket was originally rivited to the fender on a 55 and 56. The assembly manual shows a cut-a-way view but I couldn't find a good picture of it.

Actually, I think that rivet was originally aluminum, and the acid dip will eat them right up. I'm pretty sure the hood side rivets were aluminum too, as I had to disassembly my hood to dip it years ago.

Can you have your acid dipper check to see if he still has them? If it's been a while, they're probably gone. :eek:

Thanks Lazlo,

i did check with Danchuk and Ecklers but could not find those brackets there.

Its over a year since i did the dip of the body and in an other country (Norway) so the chance that they are still there are not likely.

But i order 2 direct from Cars so once again thanks.
