Spring Pocket and Width of Spring perches on axle

I pick up a 9" rear end that is 57.25 hub to hub. Going to use with a spring pocket kit to move the springs in on my 55 and do a mini tub. Can anybody tell me the width the spring perches will need to be on the axle tube?
Thanks
Les

I just finished installing mine If I’m not badly mistaken I had heard 38.5 was supposed to be from center to center of the spring pins but I believe mine was closer to 39” but I sure wouldn’t reweld your spring pads on the axle till the pocket kit was all in that way you can be sure you get the pinion angle and the pinion offset right with the engine- transmission offset in the frame that rear axle width should be just right if your saying wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface I had mine shortened to 57.5 wheel mount to wheel mount & that centered 9.5 rims with 305x17 in the wheel wells could have went larger

Mine are right at that. +/- 1/8".
