You'd be better off just doing some good bolt-on modifications/upgrade (of which there are many proven ones) to the stock front suspension than chasing the rabbit down the weight loss hole in body...

I was thinking the same thing. Might have more to do with the trans calibration than rear gearing. 3.55:1 is plenty steep for just about all driving conditions.
