I've been using an oscillating multi-tool to strip the hard undercoat and mud from the bottom of the wagon. It also does a good job stripping off the old carpet backing where it is glued down....

I would go with the smaller primaries, not only to keep exhaust gas flow up on that small cube engine but it will help with clearances to other components a "little". :)
