Default 1957 3100 Panel repair panels

Hello All,

I have a 1957 3100 Window Panel Truck(factory installed windows on the sides).

I am looking for patch panels for the lower area around the wheel wells and between the front door to the fenders. I haven't started to cut into them yet but, I think the panels would save me a lot of time. I found many sources for regular trucks but, I'm having a hard time locating patches for the Panel truck.

Any help or direction would be great.

I have a 57 Suburban and nobody makes any metal panels anywhere behind the doors for these. The rear wheel opening can be cut from a stepside pickup fender and you can use an outer rocker along the area between the doors & rear wheel opening. You will need to be good at fabrication to make it fit & look correct. The area between the doors & front fender are the same as a 3100 pickup. Everything from the "B" pillar forward is the same as a pickup.

Default Probable solution

First of all- Thanks all for your input.

I have been looking at body lines and think the rear sidewalls are the same as or similar to the Cameo bed sides. Now I need to find patch panels for that. I have a feeling that that is rare as well... I know they at least sell the fiberglass sides for those. Maybe I can adapt the fiberglass to it.

I love the body lines of the panel but, rare is sometimes a pain. (But worth it)

I will keep on looking.

Thanks,
EZPT

If you try to use parts of the fiberglass panels as patch panels you will be fighting joint separation issues forever.

I experienced the same issue years ago owning a 57 "carryall" panel truck. Mine was seriously rusted and I ended up parting it out due to lack of availability of panels. That was about 12 years ago and if they have not produced them yet they probably will not do it . You may want to contact Dynacorn and ask if there is any chance of them doing the panels.
