Default NEW CYLINDER INSTALL

What is the easiest way to install new cylinders on the convertible top? Do you put the top up or down? I am new to the convertible scene. Thanks

I replaced mine with top up. Gets clutter of folded top out of your way, and puts cylinder rod end in a more accessible spot. Once you get seat and side panels out, it is all self evident.

Please send me any tech article on top replacement; or switching out cylinders for linear actuators?

Looking to replace top, AND eliminate the hydro pump, and rams.

The linear actuator idea sounds like a good one, but the hydraulics and a single pump help keep the cylinder motion synchronized. That won't be a sure thing with independent electric motors on each.

This shouldn't be a heavy maintenance item. I would spend money on something else more exciting and in need of newer technology than this.
