Well the games/ foolishness begins! I just called thge Holiday Inn in BG and was told the following:
1. You can only book rooms for the 13th & 14th, as the 15th hadn't been released yet. I know they weren't supposed to take reservations until tomorrow but as flaky as they have been, I wanted them to confirm this!
2. Then I was told she had to check with her supervisor....No wait, we cant take reservations for any of those days. The lady was befuddled to say the least and didn't seem to know the facts.
3. I asked to speak with supervisor. Supervisor said we can't take reservations for the Nationals until Sept. 3rd since the event was pushed back a week from previous dates. The info provided at checkout this year was wrong and it is now Sept. 3rd.
4.I called the Marriott across the street from " host hotel and they gladly accepted my reservation.
Don't know that it's proper to call the Holiday Inn a host hotel since nothing is happening at Sloan Center in 2020.
The heck with these idiots! Its amazing when a business refuses to take your money. I have stayed at thge Holiday Inn several years at the Nationals and am not impressed.
The only reason I preferred staying there was so my wife could take the shuttle to the track. Taking the shuttle turns out to be a real adventure anyway as the shuttle driver follows no published schedule, stops for lunch, etc. and it took the wife 1 1/2 hours to get to the track!
[QUOTE=557B210;2279468]Sorry for your troubles Larry...Very frustrating for sure...I was putting out the word, based on what I got upon check out at the hotel....I was told it was the 26th of this month.
Did they offer you any complimentary peach cobbler?
Should I reserve a room for you and Cindy, when I make ours for next year's Lead East?
I know you were just passing along what they told us at checkout. Need Connie with us to get Peach Cobbler.
Lead East.....one of these days. When is Lead East by the way?
