I have a Gen3 6.0 LQ9 with PRC cylinder heads and an Art Morrison Chassis. I am putting long tube headers on it and I have some clearance issues with one the header bolt holes that is not being used for this application. The hole sticks out past the block for use with a different engine I assume. The headers are Ceramic coated so I cant knock a dent into it to get the 1/4 inch clearance that I need. I am wondering if I could grind/cut off that ear about 1/2 way through which would leave just a semi-circle portion attached to the head? Wondering if this could cause any cracking or heat disappation issues? What do you think?
Just remove the area you need clearance with Radius it to not leave sharp edges and will be fine. The PRC heads have holes on bottom of the head, which are for aftermarket blocks. Won't effect anything on a stock block nor leak exhaust. The head is AL so no issue with rust.

Rick L it's the cylinder head bolt on left bottom. I did not install the missing header bolt on top left yet because header flange won't sit flush and I was just test fitting it. The headers have 3 bolt holes per 2 tubes which matches the header bolt pattern on the cylinder heads.
personally I would pull both heads and put them on a 90 degree mill table and mill the extra head bosses off flush with the block deck surface. it would look much better that way.
