Looking to purchase a scratch free dust cover for my 56 Belair.
It will be garaged but I need to keep the dust from accumulating.
Are the under $200 covers adequate?
You have to buy a car cover based on your intended use. Sounds like you just need an indoor only cover to keep the dust off. I have a Dust stop cover for my 95 Trans Am and it works well for that. It's an indoor cover only so it wouldn't be any good for outdoor storage. They do make dust stop covers that can be used outdoors also if you think you may need to use it outdoors occasionally. My son has this kind for his 74 Javelin and it works good for keeping the dust off also.
I actually just got a cover from California Car Cover last week for the Del Ray. Although garage kept I opted for the best one they had for indoor /outdoor use. It made sense for me for the extra money to have one more versatile. It was under 200 bucks with free shipping and a few packs of micro fiber cloths to entice you to buy . It fits nicely . I would have liked a bit more thiskness but it works fine.

I have California Car covers for four of my vehicles. I bought one for my '56 Chevy 2dr, Ford F150 pick up, 5 series BMW, and my wife's S Type Jag and they all fit great, but last year I bought one for my '55 Nomad and it fit terrible. I sent it back and I got my money back, but not without having to make a few calls.
In spite of the latter, I plan to order another one for the Nomad, and one for my '49 Olds 98. They told me they had redesigned the one for the Nomad. I've been buying the indoor/outdoor but that doesn't mean they're waterproof. For that I'm using a plastic tarp over an old blanket on my '62 Vette. I'll have to reverse that on my Olds as it's a convertible.

Here's some pics of three of my cars under covers. Two pics of my '56, one of my BMW and my corvette is covered with a cheapie from Summit that's supposed to be water proof. The one covering the Chevy has a soft lining because the car is black and any rub would be highlighted. The 'vette is in need of a paint job so no worries about rubs.
