last one I checked had 500 miles on it and looked like it had fungas growing in it. drilled hole in cap, sprayed wd-40 inside cap and its been fine ever since.
same here,

i have in all my cars msd rtr. And all are corroded inside like crazy but they working perfect.

Is there anything you could spray in there to help it from corroding?

My car with an MSD R2R used to loose something like 75 to 100 HP when it got really really hot. Drove me nuts for a long time trying to figure it out. Turned out it was the module inside the R2R.

I don't know what it was doing to the spark, (retarding it?, making it weak?, ... ) but it sure as heck was the problem. Did it from new, it just took me too long to realize it.

Rick, was that to me? If so, I didn't know HEI's went bad like that, I thought they just quit completely, then worked again when cooled off? Or just quit and never worked again. I think my MSD R2R retarded the spark because it never started to miss or anything??? But I'll be damned if I know what could go bad to make it do that?

All I can say is that I think all 3 failure symptoms are all from similar causes.
