No because I don't know that person - at least by name. After walking around by myself I spent most of the day under my canopy next to my car.

Jim,

We aren't sure what the problem is with the brake drums. Those are the same drums we use in house all the time. Normally we don't take parts back after they've been altered, but since you put in the effort to paint them for us I guess we can do you a solid and take them back

We will try to use them for our next application and we can let you know if they worked or not. We've never had a problem with them in the past but who knows, maybe there was something wrong when they were cast. All we can do is try to use them ourselves and see if we run into the same hurdle.

I'm emailing you a UPS label. Send them back our way and we'll refund your card when they arrive.

Good luck with the rest of the project,

- Kyle

P.S. Thanks Otis for moving this over to our section.

They were shipped from Danchuk in California (far away). Supposed to fit '51-'58 Chev, front and rear. Guess what. They don't! They are too deep. When mounted flush against the axle they rub against the backing plate. Of course I had to paint them before fitment, which means I can't return them. And the cost of shipping would be at least half of what I paid for the pair anyhow. I suppose they could be ground down, but I don't have the facilities to do that. Plus, why should I have to? Why can't companies which cater to trifive Chevies implement a quality control program to ensure that parts being sold actually fit? I'm very confident that my rear axle is out of a trifive as I just had it rebuilt. All the rest of the parts fit. I sure wish I would have read all of the posts in genso's thread regarding brake drums before I ordered mine.
Rant over!

P.S. Anybody looking for some freshly painted brand new boat anchors?

As I was writing this post, Kyle beat me to it.
I originally mentioned Woody’s in my first post because I thought it was ironic (my sense of humor?) that I ordered from Indiana and the parts were shipped from California. Woody’s had absolutely nothing to do with the quality or handling of the merchandise, they only passed my order on to Danchuk. I had no complaint with them whatsoever. Today, I received a phone call from Woody’s telling me that they will send me a shipping label in order to return the brake drums. I am disappointed that the drums didn’t work for me, but very pleased that they will not only take the drums back but pay for the shipping. As far as I am concerned Woody’s is a standup company and I will order from them again.
Thanks, Kyle.
