so i pick up the covers. i think they look great. so, he shows me one that sat out for 2 days. one just touched up. man, how the white oxidation started. now ya had to look close, but wow. he said M/T`s were noted for bad sand casting. under a magnifying glass, actually pores in the cover. so, i waxed part of one. wow. anyway, told me to put them in the dishwasher with hot water and soap. then wax. wha-la! thanx you guys. man, i owe alot of you guys a beer or 2.
how can you keep aluminum from oxidizing? here`s the deal. just got a call from the polisher, had my M/T covers polished. he said, the moisture in the air is going to oxidize them. he told me to wax them. ???????never heard of that thanx.
I used Diamond Clear, an Eastwood product, on some polished alum engine parts. Am very satisfied.
