Default Smoothie Bumper

Just noticed that CCI has a driver http://www.classicchevy.com/chevy-bu...kets-1955.html and show quality http://www.classicchevy.com/chevy-bu...thie-1955.html smoothie bumper for a 55....Quite a difference in price....Has anyone been able to compare the two? Is there actually a $330 difference in quality or looks?

Pops,

I've not seen one in person but this is likely the same one Resto-World carries (carried?) but doesnt recommend due to lack of substraight quality. Wavy, dented appearance if I remember correctly.

I'd say the more expensive one the chrome is a lot nicer. Now don't get me wrong the cheaper one chrome is great as well. When i was in sales i would ask the guy what he was doing with his car. Is it a weekend driver or a points car. Of course if it's a weekend driver i'd always sell the guy the cheaper one but if the guy was going to the major point shows i'd sell him the higher one. For me it all depends on what you plan on doing with the ride.

Default Smoothie front bumper

So while searching for smooth front bumper thread I came across this one. Very helpful, so after 2 1/2 years since this was posted has anyone tried either one of these? I'm actually thinking about pulling the trigger on the "driver quality" bumper for the 55. Its reasonably priced and with only having the center brackets it should relatively easy to install?

Any thoughts?

I have the cheaper one that was installed 4 years ago and still looks great. In addition to the center brackets there are the slotted ones on the end for the braces. If you want I can send you a photo.

I have to wonder if the more expensive one just has all the extra brackets, which you may not need.
