I need to mask off the unside of my car to keep over spray off my frame and undercarrage but i will need to leave the paper there a while cause im not the fastest at getting all the body work done. What tape will stick the best and not leave any resadue on the frame etc when I finally get to pull it off?
We use ONLY the good q 3M tape.
If you get some tapes wet, they will be a nitemare to take off.
We make a skirt out of visqueen, tape it to the inner rocker, and let it drop to the floor.
What are you calling "a while"? If a couple of weeks then most won`t be bad. Much longer and i`d be removing and replacing often as it is a pain to get off if left for very long. I see vendors selling the green 3M tape at swap meets all the time, and that is what our local body shops use.

Even the best tape is difficult to remove if you let it sit a long time. Water and sun just make it worse. Removing it soon after you've painted is the best way. Even if you have to mask it again later.
Ditto on the 3m tape. You might try a local body shop to get a roll or two of tape and maybe a car bag to cover it with. A lot of them will help you out.:anim_25:
I'm with the 3M! How about using some plastic that they use for shipping, comes in a roll like seran wrap, heavier though. it might cover the long large part.
3m green, comes in different widths and lengths too :wavey:
