On the 56 that I've owned for less than a month now I would have taken more time to learn more about what the car's had done to it and with what parts. The PO did keep every receipt for the parts/work done (around $18K) but there are still some things I'm not sure of which means I have to dig into it to find out. I'm still very happy with my purchase and am giving myself two to three years to have it just like I want it but when I think I'm done something else will pop into my head.

Oh how familiar does that sound? Am in the same boat it sounds like. Someday we'll get their fingerprints off, and make them "ours"...

I would have started the restoration 10 years earlier, or shortly after I got the car.

I would have added up the cost of the missing parts before I bought it!

(Then I would have NOT bought it!)

I'd have pulled the carpets back and got a look at the floors from the inside. Knowing what I know now, I'd have been better served paying more for a slightly cleaner car. That said, the price I paid for a car was not out of line for its condition...and I'm learning a lot. I'm sure when my hands heal from doing metal work, I'll count it as a positive experience.

I would have done nothing different. I have enjoyed the journey and limited upgrades to winter time and have driven it every summer and back to the 50's since 2002.

I would not have sold it. As I loaded it onto the buyers trailer I knew I had messed up big time.
