Default ** carb

zz4 with holly. Gaskets replace 2 times in last three years. It is leaking front bowl plus staring to flood out if driving reasonable it really loads. I have a Muncie. Are there any new style carbs that work with new gas?

There are better quality gaskets available for holley carbs, for example gaskets for E85 gas should work with any gas.
What comes to flooding, you really need to use pressure regulator, that is no particular holley problem, edelbrock/ carter style carbs are even more sensitive for flooding than holley.

If your not using “reusable” gaskets that’s the first issue. The brown cork ones blow. If it still leaks after that, most likely it’s warped or possibly cracked near the bolts from over tightening. It happens.

I recently had to install a regulator on mine due to flooding. Turned out my Holley pump was putting about 9psi to the carb. Knocked it down to 6psi and carb seems much happier now.

Easier/neater solution to a pump putting out too high psi is getting the correct pump IMHO....

I'm also happy with my Edelbrock for a street cruiser. (My ZZ4 came with a holley.)

I would also agree that a pump that puts out less psi (if that’s really the issue) is the cleanest solution. Regulators add a bunch of additional fuel line and routing/location problems.

I prefer mine on the carb base but it’s never a cheap solution.

The pump needs to be “clockable” on my 55 otherwise the fittings are up against the cross member.
