Default upper radiator hose w v8 and 6 cyl radiator

Will an original 6 cyl upper radiator hose work on a v8 with a 6 cyl radiator in the 6 cyl position???

my car has a 350 with a 6 cyl mount radiator. I had to cut a place in the cross brace for the hose to clear. I did a neat job and repainted. looks good and plenty of clearance. good luck on your project

I ordered my hoses from East Coast Chevy when I moved my radiator to the 6 cyl position. They fit perfectly.

Is it a 6 cyl radiator or an 8?
I have a brand new v8 radiator that I cant/don't want to use(dont want to butcher my fresh painted hood or core support top bar). So I orderd a new Griffin aluminum 6 cyl radiator (that should be a direct fit) and a lower hose but I cant find a upper hose for my application. I looked thru alot of old posts but I still have'nt found a part number for the upper hose.

I would call East Coast Chevy [Phone (215) 348-5568 or Fax (215) 348-0560] and tell them exactly what you have and what you need. They knew off the top of their head which hoses I needed without me knowing a part number. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. However, I have a '56 which is a different arrangement than your '57.

Yes the hose will work. I got my upper from a local NAPA store, it is a Dayco part# 70344. I am running a 350 with an aluminum radiator that has the upper neck in the 6cyl location and the radiator is also located in the 6cyl. location.

No need to cut anything on a 57 if the radiator has the upper neck in the 6cyl location, the hood baffle is notched from the factory. And it clears the upper cross bar on the radiator support also.

Thanks Terry, thats why I orderd a new radiator, too far along to mess with the hood or core support. I saw your posts and pics in another thread I figured I could use that hose if I get a different water inlet for the manifold, mine aims straight forward. Is that hose made for the 6 cyl motor and radiator?

If i remember correctly it showed to work with either in their parts books. I used a water neck on the engine that swivels.
