Your shock setup will be a real improvement over the factory's original design. Nicely done.

Thanks my brother I appreciate that...

Had some time to mess with the ladder bars and wanted to mount them under frame but my fabricated brackets and the load on the axle puts them at to much of an angle and will hit the frame , so placed them on the side to just clear it at 3/8".....

I have 4" between the wheel and frame and wanted that area for tire expansion I have a 15x7 with 4.25 bs and it fits well for now. The trunk floor is still stock and no mini tub yet.

So I rather not have the ladder bars installed where they would have to be removed later from the olds housing.

Stepped back and looked at what could be done to correct things. figured to swap axle to under leaf being that all components were just tacked it took 1hour and I turned her into a street freak hard telling without a full distance pic
I've got mixed emotions my rear is now 49" to top of fin and the front brow of fender is at 41".....the ladder bars look clean and the full tire is nice but it's freaky to me and a tad to much rake , so I'm undecided at this point

If you're asking for opinions the former is a better look IMO.
Also, please correct me if I'm wrong but won't that small piece the front of the ladder is bolted to let the rear move back and forth??

It will allow it to move but only a minnimal amount when all is set and done , it was a recommendation from 1971bb427 to eliminate the binding and stiffness of it all being locked firm.

I'm thinking I like it above the leaves as well ...

Yes it will, but without a full floating axle it needs that or it will lock up the suspension and ride hard until the mount breaks. I've tried every way I could think of to do this without going to a full floating axle, and this is what I ended up with also.
I cheated and just went coil overs and a panhard bar on my other gasser to use ladder bars.

Default Rear end completed

So it took a bit to get this rear set, a lot of up and down to verify ladder bar location and final rest of pinion ...worth all the trouble she gave me!

Measured the rockers and I'm at 1 1/4 difference with front being up like I started before testing the waters of the street freak ( I know now to never try that again)

Looks great with that pie-crust meat mostly up in the wheelwell, but not TOO much up either. Great job man!
