Tried to put them side by side. Tires sizes and ride heights look very different.

Personally, I think the finished truck is just a tiny bit too far back for the ride height and tire size.

Is that a 15" on the right? Your saw blade wheels are 16" right?

That's the funny thing about these trucks with that front wheel opening.

Compensating for lousy welding skills with exceptional grinding skills!

I love the smell of burnt metal in the morning.

Jim, The pic my son sent me is off the net and not sure what size wheel but my guess
would be 15",
I plan on getting new rims and tires,"But" Not sure of what i want yet?
I think the finished truck looks like the wheel is to far back myself too.
The Flat Out kit says use 27-1/2" from front of frame back to the center line of the cross member as a reference, and i used that on the first try, BUT 58-59 truck are suppose to be 2" longer at the front end of the frame, SO i am at 28-1/2" back in this pic, if i go another 1" back like my Son says to try that would put it back the 2"?

Yes Jim 16" Corvette rims i am using for the mock up, But was telling my son maybe need to pic an overall tire and rim combo and use a Plywood template?
to be honest i think the 55-57 fenders are maybe easier then the more swooped 58-59 in dealing with this!maybe a bad choice of words?(More Bulky?)

I never saw my '57 with fenders and all on it, basket case, my front axle center was at 28.25 from front of frame when I squared it off the top of the frame. Flatout says it should have been 27.5, now the dilemma, were to put my home made flatout style front axle center? Thinking this is going to be a tack it in at about the 27.5 mark and put the cab and fenders back on and see if I'm lucky and should have bought a lottery ticket or my usual luck and wasted a bunch of time, with no apparent standard I don't see any other way.

DBH The key word you used here is TACK Weld it First, Don't make the $211.00 Mistake i made and get a little over zealous and weld it in like i did!
I had to buy the shock mounts and C-notch filler piece's after cutting mine out.Don at Flat Out is VERY PROUD of those four piece's

Default Think i got it Dialed in!

My Son, said move it back 1 more inch, Well I think he was right!
This is at 29.5 from front of frame to center of crossmember
2" farther back from the suggested 27.5 in the Flat Out kit,and would make
seance if the 58-9 frames are indeed 2" longer than 55-57 frames.
2-pics with different lighting around.
Oh and No, i am not putting ground effects lighting in the wheel wells, Lol.....

To me that looks good. Nicely centered in the wheel well. Enjoying your thread.
