I have stock spindles and have never had clearance issues, I have the oil pan that is cutout around steering link too. 15x6 wheels with 215/70/15s
the big problem with both of your posts in this thread is that the OP has an aftermarket chassis not a stock chassis. common headers for a tri five don not work in the morrison aftermarket chassis. been there done that, it didn't work.
Thanks to everyone for your comments and input. It's funny the stuff they don't tell you when you order stuff. I found a set of headers from Year one that are made for the Morrison chassis, I will be ordering a set and will let you know how they work out.
I did measure from the center of the engine mount to the frame pass thru and it measures out at 35". None of the suppliers I spoke with can provide dimensions on their headers. I'm going to bit the bullet and order the Year One headers , but it would be interesting to get the dimensions of the Doug's and Patriots to see how far off they are.
Thanks for your reply. I ordered their headers ($1,150) when I ordered the frame, when the frame was ready to ship, I was told that they had changed suppliers and my headers were now $1,800. I thought this was a little high, so that's why I looking at these brands. ($800)
I'm sure someone here is using one of these brands, and can give me feedback on fit, ground clearance and any other issues they have run into.
Just a thought. I'm running Sanderson BB56 3/4 length headers. No I don't have an AME chassis, but these headers could give you the space you need between the collector flange and the exh. opening in your frame. They are 1 7/8 dia.
A couple of weeks ago I ordered headers from Year One that were listed as designed to fit a Morrison chassis. I thought I was home free until I received a call from Year One and was told that they can no longer get them. My search continues. I may use the mid length as has been suggested.
Thanks to everyone for your replies.
I now have a set of full length headers for my BB Nomad, I found the original supplier of the BB headers for the Morrison chassis and purchased a set, they arrived the other day and look to be well made.
Thanks to everyone for your input.
