Just another note. On the last photos you can see the chrome point on the edge of the last floating bow. That point is the factory original one, and is 100% correct. 99% of the guys don't even know this. This also tells me that the top on your convertible never got replaced. All the replacement tops came with new universal points that don't have the indent in them that matches the fold over material that covers where the 2 sections of the top are stapled.
Sharp eyes, Mikey!! To be perfectly honest, even with 40+ years in the upholstery trade, I wasn't aware of that. But I have seen those special wire-on binding ends laying around in parts trays where I used to work. And to make it even more difficult, those ends are left & right specific. Dave
Yes, little know fact. I reproduced them in STAINLESS years ago, so all my restorations have them. Not cheap, but I got them!
