Default vintage Radio Recording- downloads?

The other day I was fighting with the stock AM radio thinking about an upgrade. I saw many threads with many recommendations throughout the years. I stumbled across one thread where someone had some old recordings of actual radio from back in the day with the songs, commercials, everything!

The guy even posted a link for downloading. I neglected to download the files as I thought I'd remember (yes, I know that was foolish)

Now, I cannot seem to find the thread or the links. Anyone have an idea where this info is located?

There are many sites that have old radio shows to download.
Here is one....
http://www.oldradioworld.com/

If old sports radio broadcasts are your thing then you might want to check out "The Miley Collection".

Just Google it.

I have the 55, 56 and 57 world series games from the miley collection that I play at car shows.
It's a kick to see people walk by my car and do a double take when they here a name like PeeWee Reece or Mickey Mantle coming from the radio.

John, it was a class act the year you not only had the 57 World Series playing at the nationals, but when they announced a little gimmick freebie and prize from 57, you had that very item on hand. It was too much!

It was a Gillette promo;
Signals, the secret language of Baseball.

I like old stuff like that, I was born 20 years too late.

That was my wife's thread on the H.A.M.B [I posted a link here]
I tried replying earlier but was overseas and couldn't log on.

Her post is copied and pasted here below......

"Here's a real fun link for anybody interested in this thread [especially those who love nostalgia].

https://archive.org/details/Cruisin-...uisinYears.mp3

These are 40 to 45 [approx] minute Radio shows from each year 1955 to 1970, including the original old DJ's, Advertising ,and News etc

You can click onto the year at the top [and the little triangle] and play it on your computer .

If you scroll down a bit on the RH margin to "DOWNLOAD OPTIONS " and click on MP3 you can download and save to your computer all/any of these files. [ if you download all 18 files it is only 688mb ]

These files can simply be transferred to a phone or MP3 player [cheap "bluetooth" MP3 players are $30]

With these downloads you can cruise around listening to shows that really are "Traditional" [and surprise people at car shows]"

I also have some links to some old "Wolfman Jack" shows , but he wasn't period correct [even for American Graffiti ] He was more the 70's

And this APP for your phone!

https://www.radio.net/s/57chevy

There are other links for "oldies" and "rockabilly" on the same page.

The link I listed [post #5] can be downloaded and saved onto a phone or MP3 player.
After that initial download it doesn't use any data at all.

If your original radio works great, you can splice a remote "phone jack" between the Tuner and the On/Off/Volume switch on your original radio and listen to modern FM or these downloads through the radio.
It would have that old time quality sound.

If that sort of mod is too "high-tech DIY" then look at this option. https://redirad.com/products/redirad-for-am-only-radio

^^ this plugs in series [inline] with the original aerial wires so you can intercept the radio signal and divert an AUX input signal to the radio.
