Everyone who remembers the Blue Dot Tail lights that worked with incandescent bulbs and have switched over to all LED bulbs probably are frustrated that it doesn't work with the LED Bulbs installed!
LED bulbs need to be RED for the taillights in order to have red taillights instead of pink which result from using white LED bulbs! The blue dot requires a white light shining through it in order to emit that lavender light, but with red or white it does not work!
I bought red LED bulbs on Amazon that are all red, and are very bright...and some small White LED bulbs that have an aluminum barrel and nut for the attachment to a bracket or hold which also has the wires for the electrical connections.. The barrel is too long to fit and will not allow you to put the lens on...so you cut it down!
I purchased two regular bulb sockets and cut it down also...in order to center the LED to be inline with the Blue Dot, and it allows the LED to fit in the blue dot lens and the small legs on the outside allow you to lock in the LED, I also sealed up the LED in place with RTV. The results are...I have the only functional Blue Dots with all LED Bulbs that I know in my area of Central Georgia!
