Default My 55 and a DC3

So I drove out to the airport today and skydiving was in full swing and several planes from Florida showed up. I was on the last flight of the 3 in this picture, we changed an oil pump and took a load of skydivers up and about 4000' the pressure went to zero, so we shut it down threw the skydivers out and landed. You didn't have to tell them twice to jump with an engine feathered. This 3 was Mr. Douglas's personal plane and it has the info about that on the rear bulk head.
To add to this store my family had a florist for 62 years and in the 60's we would drive to the Nashville Airport and pick up two boxes of flowers from Browns Wholesale, Redwood City Ca, I was along one time that we backed up to a DC 3 and loaded the flowers in to the back of Nannie. It was at the Berry Field Terminal on the South East part of the airport. So I thought this would be a great picture and story to share with you all.

Sam

DC3's are one of my favorite airplanes, and it is surprising how many are still flying....

And no end in sight.
According to Basler Turbo Conversions, are there more than 500 good airframes in existence.

500 that a great number, but I see a lot still with round engines, I wonder when they will be worn out, 20 to 50 years from now?
