Default Now it's BBC intake gaskets.

I have several brand new sets of BB intake gaskets, but holding them up to stock rectangular port parts the port sizes on the gaskets are just too large, and I'm not comfortable with that. I kept looking around and finally found a set with the right measurements. Ordered them and waiting for them to arrive right now.

The potential problem is this,
These are Felpro 1251's and I think they are the "printoseal" type with the elastomer beads around the ports. I have some friends that hate this type. I have no experience with these so just wanted to ask here to see if anyone has opinions. The reason I bought these is that I just haven't found the right Felpro number that fits the stock port sizes other than these yet.

Also, anybody have a Felpro number with the right sizes I could look into in case I reject these printoseals's?

I only use the felpro printoseal gaskets. never had any issue with them and found they sealed when others did not. also there is nothing wrong with the gasket being bigger than the port as long as it seals. it will have zero effect on the engine.

Not worried as much about the open slits around the ports, it's the seal that bothers me. The other new gaskets I have have such big ports that the slightest miss-match is going to cause seal issues I think.

I've bought many sets of Felpro BB gaskets before in the past with stock port sizes, and even some I believe that had crossover block-offs in them. Problem is that I never recorded the part numbers. That company makes so many different BB intake gaskets now that it boggles the mind, and looking through their online catalog is frustrating at best.

Looks like I have one big thumbs up for the printoseal, anybody else have an opinion?

There are several different BBC port, shapes and sizes, I have a Mr Gasket flip cart that come apart and you can match them to heads. Also has a SBC set.

That's awesome. Sure wish Felpro had the same thing.

Remember when there's was only two different gaskets for BB's? Oval or rectangular was about the only two choices. With all the different aftermarket heads and intakes out now the port sizes are all over the map!

After a LONG wait my FelPro 1251 gaskets finally showed up here. Surprising thing is is that they are NOT Printoseal like I thought they would be. Not sure how to feel about that part, but the port sizes are far closer than the other gaskets I have on the shelf. Might even need a little trimming. One thing about these that does bother me is that there's no metal in the middle for the crossover block-off. I'm thinking about just calling Summit and explaining my needs and see if they can come up with something from FelPro that will be even better.
