I agree, 8k USD (10K CDN) but if it is truly a rust free survivor car that needs mechanicals, tires etc, and a good cleaning, for the right person they'd have a decent Trifive.

IF you can put gas and oil in it and start it up, AND it runs with no problems, AND it cleans up, AND the rubber seals are still intact, AND all that needs to be replaced are the tires, AND you want to drive it as-is as a survivor, then I don't think $10K US is out of order. If there is good compression and oil pressure, and the motor is quiet with no fluid leaks then maybe even $12K.

If you want it restored then you're looking at adding $15K for body and paint work, $5K for a full interior and $3K for chrome and trim, bringing the total cost to $38K which is where you'd be for a fully restored one up front.

Asking price is completely nuts.

What I don't understand about a lot of people is how they present cars for sale. This one is a perfect example. Clean it up, get the engine started maybe even some what drivable and your sale price will go up. Or maybe they know for a fact that it won't run etc and let potential buyers dream about all the "what if's"

Cleaned up, running drivable it might be worth $15000

Good point Slim. A cleaned up vehicle that is running, driveable, perhaps not the best, certainly has much more appeal, then one that is not. Takes alot of mystery out of things, at least for me, Carmine.

To me that car is worth nothing. There are 2 many more doors out there that are turn key for 8-10 K.

If that car spent even a small portion of it's life in Florida, I'd be amazed if it doesn't have rust behind the the rocker panel chrome or other hidden places.
Florida is very humid....

As much as I like the 4-door hardtop(my daily driver is a 4-dr hardtop bought out of a junkyard in Jay, Florida), I'd be hard pressed to believe that car was worth near what they're asking for it....

8-10K if it runs and drives. It will cost 30K to restore it... which is about 2x's more than you'll tell the wife.
Tread lightly...
