I'm looking at the following wheel size for a stock 1956 Bel Air, using a 245 60 15 tire. I'm a little nervous about that extra half inch. Will this work?
American Racing VN109 Series Torq-Thrust Original Wheel Size: 15" x 8-1/2"
VN109 Series Torq-Thrust Original Wheel
Size: 15'' x 8-1/2''
Bolt Circle: 5 x 4-1/2''
Rear Spacing: 3-13/16''
put a floor jack under the spring perch, and just raised the tire off the ground.
doing this has the suspension loaded ( as you drive)
remove the wheel, and measure everything, from face of the drum to inner , and outer fenders,
write all this down for reference, look and measure where the tire would be,
straight edge on the drum, and measure up about 15 inches to outer fender and inner fender.
this will give you a lot of info, and help in choosing a rim/tire combo.
Thanks again. I had it measured, checked against the specs on the wheel and tire thread here, confirmed with Jegs tech people, and placed a cautious order that should fit. Hopefully by Tuesday I'll be posting a picture.
