Please post pics of your lowered tri-five. I put mine back on the ground last night after rebuilding all suspension and installing the drivetrain. It seems too low(2'dropped spindles & 2' shorter springs) Will post pics this afternoon. I want to compare to others. Thanks
I've got 2" drop spindles & adjustable coilovers on the front, after changing the 2" drop springs as it was too low. The coilovers are almost as high as the can go.
3" lowering blocks on the rear.
I'll post better pics once I can resize them.
luv 'em low...those are some great pics fellas...mine is 2" spindles plus 2" springs plus 1 coil cut out of those...for the rear posies 3" reverse eye plus 1" bocks. 225/50/18 and 255/50/18, the tall tires give me more than enough ground clearance but pretty tucked up in the wells...nuthin cooler than bein' in the weeds!
1.5" dropped springs, 2" dropped spindles, lower ball joint moved up 1". When the radiator and wires are in it, it will sit about .5" lower - I think it's perfect. This is on 205/75 tires on stock rims.
Just pulling my project back out from under all the boxes of crap! 4-link rear with coilovers and 2" drop spindles and coilover conversion kit in the front. 29 15.5 15 in the back 27 7.5 15 front hoosier radials.
Here is on of our shop cars... 56 4dr with a one pice frame, straight six, 3 on the tree and wipers that worked when they wanted to.... I loved this car. It was a fun cruiser to the local shows.
I thought I already posted mine, but I guess not. This is a 3" front and 2" rear suspension drop using a C4 Corvette front and rear, with coilovers. Tires add another 1" of total drop.

What series tyre and size rims?
I would be handy to have a claulation sheet where ya feed in stuff and it gives the drop from original and photos of what that drop looks like at each inch.
Lol
I just want everything!:happy0030:
I asked this same question months ago when the snow was blowing and the digits were single , the response I got back was "good luck with the weather" . That time has passed and now the car is ready for a new floor . Older Jegs mustang II front end with a quarter max steering rack sits 5 " off the ground . Designed into the 4 link rear is the ability to go from extreme rack to weeds . Allow me the time to have my son post some of the many pics taken. Will post them in the project section soon . Man, BigJayDee thats a nasty setup, and its sounds like its only going to get NASTTTIER.....
I'm running 2" dropped Heidt's spindles, 1" lowered front springs with 215/65/15"s on 15X7" standard Cragar Street Star rims. Out back I installed de-arched leaf springs to lower the car about 2 -2 1/2". The tires are 255/60/15"s on 15X8" reverse Cragar Street Star rims, which have a 3 1/2" backspacing. The rear end is a 9" F**d that is 2" narrower than stock (58" vs 60")
had afriend built a car so low he had to shave the rockers down to 1/4 inch and reshape the front fender bottoms just to get 2 " clearance. and it didnt have airride.
How are you guy's not bottoming out in the rear, diff. to frame.I just lowered mine with 2" blocks in the rear and i'm bottoming out in this area with mild bumps?:confused0006::confused0006: This is how it sat before the 2" blocks.

Your car looks higher than stock in the rear in that pic. A stock suspension sits 5.72" from the top of the axle housing to the bottom of the frame. A 2" drop should put it at 3.72". That should still be enough to prevent bottoming. Be sure you have axle bumpers in place, and check your shocks.
