I'm using Dynomax Super Turbo 14" on several of my cars, and I love the sound on all of them. I use the ST's on my '49 Olds with an LS engine with Sanderson headers. I also have Sanderson Headers on the 350 in my '55 Nomad, but the sound I enjoy the best is with the 327's in my '56 Chevy, and my '62 vette. I'm using rams horn headers on both of these. They sound great at idle but maybe a little too loud with the 'vette with the pipes coming down behind the rear tires.

ALL aftermarket performance mufflers have some amount of drone at some rpm level. If there was no drone, then they would be on factory cars or there would be no performance advantage.

The level of drone varies based on the design of the muffler, horsepower, crossover pipe used, position of the mufflers, position of the tailpipes, insulated hangers or not and more.

So it's best not to draw any conclusions about drone (or performance for that matter) on any muffler brand but rather draw the conclusions on the model of the muffler being considered.

Default headers

Super Comp 2458-1. I also have 500 steering box, power steering and ac and did not have to beat on any thing for clearance. Side motor mounts are the speedway version.

I have FlowMaster 40s on the 283 with a radical cam and then I have a Flowmaster super 44s on zz3 both set up with long tube headers and straight pipes out the back. They both sound pretty old-school. Meaning they are loud. Super 44s are definitely a little bit lower/deeper tone. I spent hrs. Listening to video clips.......

In my '56 210 I have BBK tuned shorties with Cherry Bomb Vortex mufflers, cross over and full length exhaust. But LS1 / T-56 6 speed,,,, No Drone.

My C5 Vette has Borla, drone only at low RPM on a load, like u a hill and too lazy to shift down. Otherwise excellent.

Very "old school" I know but so am I, LOL. Full length 70's Appliance headers with full length true duals out to the back bumper and slight turn down there. No H or X crossover pipes. Running two original 2'' in and 2'' out Thrush mufflers from the 70's that have a nice deep rumble and really "talk" to you when you mash the go pedal. Love the sound for sure.
