Over on the other forum you said at the end of last year that they had sent you a set of LED bulbs. If those are what you want to replace, the smaller ones are BA9 and the bigger ones are BA15 (the number is the base diameter in mm.)

Check with Superbright for replacements, they have different colors, intensities and different light patterns. https://www.superbrightleds.com/?gcl...hoCNh8QAvD_BwE

The LED strip they sent is fantastic---super bright--but does not work with headlight dimmer---bought external rheostat but really don't want to add any more stuff in or under the dash area. So I figured I would put the original bulb and socket back in but don't remember where I put it.(Senior moment). Have plenty of socket laying around--need an LED that will work with headlight dimmer---THANKS

I bought dimmable LEDs from Superbright thinking that they would work the same as incandescent bulbs. Apparently, such is not the case. LEDs consume very little power and simply reducing the power with a rheostat does not affect the light output. They work from 12V down to a trigger voltage at which they simply turn off.

The way they dim is by rapidly pulsing the power input electronically at a rapid rate, undetectable to the human eye, so that they don't fully turn on.

There is no way these dash lights can be dimmed with a standard automobile light switch dimmer rheostat. If you had a rheostat that was infinitely variable you might be able to hit that sweet spot just above the trigger voltage where the LED begins to shut down, giving a dimming effect but in practice, you must have a separate, made for the purpose dimmer, wired in series between the switch and the lights.
