Can you help me determine if these compression results are good or bad?
The car is a 1959 Mercedes 220S Ponton with 120k miles

No. 1 was 125, number 2 was 100, number 3 was 100, number 4 was 95, number 5 was 110 and number 6 was 120.

Thanks:bowtieb:

A little too much spread for me. Run the test again with a couple of squirts of oil in each cyl and see if the numbers go up. If the numbers increase, then rings are probably the issue, if it stays at the big spread, then valves are the likely culprit. I would think that an engine of this era should be close to 130 psi cranking pressure, and in any case the 95 to 125 spread is pretty big.
