Thank you, thank you all. Calling Steve now. Yeah, this shouldn’t be this complex....... sure others have this same set up.
I’m suspecting my p/s mount and pulley are the root of my problems.
I can't put my finger on exactly what your problem is....However, before you buy anything, I'd get more input from our members....There has to be several members on the site who are running a SBC with a P/S pump and the radiator in the V8 position (behind the bar).
When I first bought my 56 I did the same as the OP with the same results ended up going with a new aluminum radiator swapped the lower part of the core support then within a month tore it all apart for LS swap take a look at the ps mount bracket for 65 corvette it may move the pump to the left enough to make things work photo is of my 65 now long gone might work if it doesn’t interfere to the frame you might also call Alan Grove give them the dimensions from the center hole of the fan to the tip where it interferes with the ps pump get any suggestion on a bracket they may have
I used the same p/s mount I had to modify it for it to work I moved the p/s mount back first mounted a piece of flat steel to org. motor mount holes then weld the bracket to back side of the flat steel I also used a stock fan and I run the rad. in v8 pos.
