Hi there, thanks for your time. I have a 1957 Chevy Bel Air post car that I bought a tilt steering column from the Pomona Fairgrounds for. The guy I bought this from says this is the correct column but has given us no support. Does anyone see anything that is not correct and why is the column not lining up?The car used to be a stick shift and I put an automatic in with a column shift.
That's not a 57 column. It's for a 55 or 56. A 57 column has a large opening at the bottom of the collar to go over the snout on the instrument cluster.
A tilt column steering wheel won't be that close to the dash either. The bottom collar will just go over the cluster snout a little ways.
