In the words of Chris Sondels: "The goal of the build is to piece together a ’55 just like a guy on a budget would do in his garage. “We decided to build this like a guy at home would,” said Sondles. “The premise was to build the car for under $55,000.”
IMO, this type of article would have been great to see in the ATFA magazine.
Last I knew, Larry Burns from Kentucky still owned it.
Larry Burns, the luckiest man in Kentucky, couldn’t have wiped the smile off his face even if he wanted to – and why would he? As he sat in his new ’55 Chevy for the first time, he was surrounded by applauding – though inevitably envious – Tri-Five lovers and bathed in the flickering light of camera flashes.
Larry will park his new Chevy next to his current ’55 and even has plans to drive it back to the event next year. From Bowling Green, the car will go to the SEMA show and be displayed in the Golden Star Auto booth, then it will be delivered to Larry for him to start racking up miles.
